There’s still plenty of fun to be had here, but like the antique mall in the game, it’s a bit cluttered. We also ran into the problem of the voting prompts for items appearing on our phones at inopportune times, forcing us to divide our attention between the on-screen humor of our fellow players’ presentations and our role in the game. Unfortunately, once you strip away the fun backstory and admittedly hilarious cursed stock images of the antiques, this game is, at its core, a less interactive form of Party Pack 2’s Bidiots, as that game actually had you creating works of terrible art with its purposefully poorly designed drawing function. The premise is madcap: a wizard has turned all the players into frogs and is now forcing them to go to a shoddy antique emporium to buy strange items, give them interesting product descriptions, and flip them for a profit by having other players vote for their favorites. The most disappointing game in the group may be Junktopia.

Like all Jackbox party packs, this is an assortment of five party games, with comedy being the central focus and a little trivia knowledge challenge thrown in to stay true to the old ‘90s You Don’t Know Jack games from which the series spun off. That's a hole that Jackbox filled well for a lot of people, and although the world is largely back to normal, we'll soon be getting a new crop of games in the form of The Jackbox Party Pack 9. Social distancing is becoming a not-so-fond memory for many, but global pandemic brought forth the side effect of seeking a good time with friends from the comfort of our own separate couches.
